Its been a long time since I've discovered a new artist specifically a painter than inspires me, mostly I would assume its because I have very little connection to that world anymore. One because I have a very hard time with the pretension that often comes along with that scene and two is my own fault. All this to say that Michael Carson is pretty cool, a figurative painter inspired a lot by fashion, design, architecture and light. I feel I can relate.
